šŸ“Š MAF & Fuel Trim Analysis

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor is essential for measuring the amount of air entering the engine, playing a crucial role in ensuring proper fuel delivery. Accurate air intake readings help the engine control unit (ECU) calculate the right amount of fuel needed for efficient combustion. To maintain optimal performance, the ECU makes adjustments through Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) and Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT).

Short Term Fuel Trim (STFT) refers to the immediate, real-time adjustments the ECU makes to keep the air/fuel ratio balanced. Typically, STFT should stay within a range of ±10%. Any values outside of this range could indicate potential issues with the air/fuel mixture.

On the other hand, Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) represents the adjustments that the ECU has "learned" over time and stored in its memory. These adjustments reflect persistent issues in the fuel system, and higher LTFT values often indicate long-term problems, such as fuel delivery or air intake issues, that need attention to maintain engine efficiency. Monitoring both STFT and LTFT is critical for ensuring your engine is running smoothly.
