Scott Ford: From Setback to Comeback

Journey of Resilience and Reinvention

"It's never too late to start over."

"Resilience isn't about how many times you fall, but how many times you rise."

These words have guided me through the toughest times of my life. I've learned that resilience isn’t just about enduring hardships; it’s about using each challenge as an opportunity to rise stronger. Every setback I faced, no matter how insurmountable it seemed, became a stepping stone toward reinvention. It’s never easy, but it’s always possible to start anew, to redefine your path, and to keep moving forward. Life is about embracing change, adapting, and finding the strength to rise each time you fall.

The Early Days

My name is Scott Ford, and I was born in 1965 in Concord, NH. I had a wonderful childhood with loving parents and a strong foundation that shaped who I am today. My journey began at the age of 13 when I started working at McDonald's, but my family's legacy in the automotive industry soon called to me. My grandfather and father owned an Arco gas station, and it was inevitable that I would follow in their footsteps.

By 1989, I opened my first auto shop, The Performance Place. Life was everything I had dreamed of. I was doing what I loved, raising my two children, and building a successful career as a respected automotive technician, specializing in truck and auto repair. I was a dedicated family man and business owner.

Living Life to The Fullest

Life was a vibrant tapestry of passion, family, and the thrill of the open road. My days were filled with the hum of engines at The Performance Place, the joy of raising my children, and the freedom of motorcycle rides through New Hampshire's scenic routes. Weekends were for family time, adventures, and creating lasting memories. It truly felt like I was living the dream I had worked so hard to build.

Passion & Life

My passion for mechanics and adventure wasn't confined to the road; it extended to the rugged trails and the thrill of off-roading. The Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail was more than just a vehicle; it was a gateway to exploration and a way to connect with family through shared outdoor activities. I was a passionate motorsports enthusiast, and these off-road adventures in New Hampshire were a significant part of my life before the accident.

The Accident That Changed Everything

On September 10, 2016, my life took a devastating turn. While on a trail ride with my son in Errol, NH, we had an accident that left me paralyzed. I fell 30 feet down a cliff, breaking my back in three places, crushing ribs, collapsing both lungs, and suffering severe head trauma. My son, despite his own injuries, managed to get help, and I was airlifted to the hospital.

The doctors told me I was lucky to be alive, but I didn't feel lucky. At 51 years old, I was paralyzed and facing a long road to recovery. I spent a month in the hospital and returned home to manage my business from a wheelchair.

"At 51 years old, I was paralyzed and facing a long road to recovery. I didn't feel lucky, but I refused to give up."

For four years, I pushed through the pain, working 10-hour days from my wheelchair, but my body began to give out.

Further Challenges

Then, in 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and my struggles intensified. I fell out of my wheelchair, breaking both legs and dislocating my hip. What followed was a series of hospitalizations, surgeries, and a battle with MRSA that nearly took my life. By the end of it, I had lost part of my left leg and endured unimaginable physical and emotional pain.

As I was recovering, tragedy struck again. In June 2021, my son Craig and his mother were killed in an ATV accident. The grief was unbearable, and I found myself questioning everything. To make matters worse, my fourth wife asked for a divorce while I was hospitalized with COVID. She and my former best friend took my business of over 30 years and drained my bank account, leaving me with nothing. I was placed in a nursing home, feeling like my life had completely unraveled.

In 2023 and 2024, I faced yet another life-altering challenge. Due to complications and ongoing health issues, I had to have both of my legs amputated at the knees. It was a devastating blow, but I refused to let it define me.

"Each challenge I've faced has tested my faith and resilience, but I've continued to push forward, determined to find purpose and meaning in my life."

Faith and Renovation

In the darkest moments of my life, I found strength in my faith. I began to see that while I couldn't change what had happened to me, I could change how I responded to it. I started to explore new possibilities and ways to rebuild my life. My decades of automotive experience and knowledge were still valuable, even if I couldn't work with my hands anymore.

I discovered the world of affiliate marketing and began to see a path forward. I could share my automotive expertise online, helping others while creating a new source of income for myself. This realization was transformative—it gave me purpose and hope for the future.

"I discovered that my knowledge and experience could still help others, even if my body couldn't do what it once did."

A Message of Hope

My extraordinary journey proves that resilience and reinvention can overcome any obstacle. It's never too late to transform your life and career. From an auto shop owner to achieving digital success in affiliate marketing, I am a testament to this.
